Where can I find a DHL Paketbox?
There are around 1,000 PAKETBOXES units across Germany for you to use 24 hours a day. You'll find an overview of all the PAKETBOXES units here, along with other drop-off points that are open round the clock (e.g. the PACKSTATION).
What types of shipment can be placed in a DHL Paketbox?
The PAKETBOX can be used for all franked parcels and packages sent via Deutsche Post DHL. Please note the maximum dimensions of 50 x 40 x 30 cm.

Are parcels sent via a Paketbox cheaper?
If the parcels are franked using the DHL Online Franking service you will save up to EUR 2.00 in postage. Simply buy stamps online and print them out on your own PC.

What is the difference between the Paketbox and the Packstation Service?
The PAKETBOX is a complement to the Packstation service. A PAKETBOX is a place to drop off franked parcels, like a letterbox is a place to drop off letters.
A PACKSTATION, on the other hand, is a fully automated parcel counter. Here, you can obtain stamps for franking and also pick-up parcels that you have ordered from mail-order companies or online stores, for example.

Is a deposit receipt provided?
Since the PAKETBOX works just like a letterbox, no receipt is issued when a shipment is dropped off.
If you require a deposit receipt for your parcel, you can obtain one by dropping it off at a post office branch or at a Packstation.
Please note that you will not receive a receipt for small parcels (Päckchen) since these are not shipments for which delivery can be acknowledged.
Is any liability provided for shipments requiring proof of deposit?
Please be aware that in the event of a claim (e.g. loss), compensation will only be given upon presentation of a deposit receipt.The information required for this enters the DHL shipment tracking system the next time the PAKETBOX is emptied.
How can I find out where my shipment is right now?
With DHL shipment tracking, you can find out where your shipment is once you've placed it in the PAKETBOX.
To do this, all you need is the number located on the copy of your DHL PAKETMARKE or returns form.
How do I send a return?
- If possible, pack the goods back into their original packaging.
- Stick the returns label onto the packaging. (The returns label is either already included with the shipment or you will have to request one from the sender).
- Open the Paketbox and place your shipment inside. Close the door, and that's it!
